We are HOPE

Canine Hope for Heroes formerly Canine Hope for Diabetics was started in 2009 with a mission to bring independence and safety to Type 1 Diabetics. In 2012, as demand for these specially trained service dogs increased, we incorporated, forming an official 501c3 organization.

In 2019 we recognized a need to expand services, and offer training and placement of service dogs for First Responders and Veterans. We are a volunteer run non profit organization and we are dedicated to training very special canine hopefuls for individuals and families that need them.

Through our volunteers and puppy raisers, we raise, train and deploy full trained Diabetic Alert Dogs, PTSD Service Dogs for First Responders, and Veterans. Canine Hope for Heroes will cater the dogs training to the individual Hero's need. These services may include, mobility challenges, anxiety, night terrors, item retrieval, and facility dogs to first responder, and military facilities.

We are always in need of volunteers, puppy raisers, and donations to continue to provide dogs to those who need them most.

Our Vision

A society where type 1 diabetics, first responders, and veterans are empowered to feel safe whether they live alone or with others; a place where they no longer fear; an opportunity to share life with their own canine partner in the form of a highly trained service dog.

Our Mission

It is our mission to assist type 1 diabetics, first responders, and veterans gain independence and safety through the use of a highly trained working service dog. Our goal is that each and every team we work with realizes the special guardian angel they have received and can see each dog for what they are and appreciate the journey they will be embarking on.
